Pioneers in Abandoning Animal Leather
Despite knowing the great harm involved in the production of genuine leather, why do some still take risks? There's no other reason but because consumers like leather products.
In the past, consumers were fond of leather products for good reason. This is because imitation leather and fabric products could not match genuine leather material in terms of experience, durability, and texture. However, with the progress of industrial production, these artificial products have gradually caught up with genuine leather from all angles.
Gradually, many luxury brands have begun to abandon animal leather, such as Gucci, Versace, Michael Kors, and others that we are familiar with. In the automotive field, Tesla has already phased out animal-based leather seats, and Bentley has developed alternative leather materials to meet the needs of vegetarians.
Nowadays, not using animal leather products has become an environmental label and a trend. In recent years, the output of genuine leather and synthetic leather has decreased due to the decline in downstream demand and environmental regulations. Sales of artificial chemicals have correspondingly decreased.
Even in independent brands, there are pioneers who have abandoned animal leather.
